CASE ANALYSIS: THE IT Center in Gokongwei building

In the university, one of the most important office that holds key information would be the IT Center located at the third floor of the Gokongwei building. Given the discussions on the importance of KM & BCP in the organization, make a critique and assessment of the IT Center in terms of :


1.Identify three crucial and evident vulnerabilities of the IT Center. Explain the implication of each vulnerability.
2.Make a critical assessment of these vulnerabilities in terms of disruption of the university operations.
3.Make a sound recommendation on what kind of IT Center we should have, where should it be located and what safety measures to be undertaken.

About SMS Reporting

SMS as a mobile tool is supposed to be utilized in various ways. One of this is to account people, know their status and whereabouts. Even if our class is not a volunteer's group, we can actually use the simple tool and approach to account our class members. In this case if an emergency takes place, we can actually help each other. In getting information of a situation or reporting special incidents, again we are engaging a very practical use of the SMS.

Kian raised the concern of not having a prepaid load. Jaimmie raised the issue of not having a telco signal. These things should not prevent us from doing the right thing at the fastest way we can-- i.e. account our members and report the status of your group or your team. And on this instances, group leaders have to follow instructions accordingly.

Last Tuesday evening's exercise turned out poor. There were group who were able to report almost midnight. I fell asleep waiting for the responses. And there were some who did not follow instructions. So we will improve our SMS reporting in the coming days.
